Willow leaves sweep through the wind in a vivid play of color and movement.
In Japan, willow trees have long stood along rivers and near the entrances to historic geisha districts. Their graceful branches have become a familiar part of the Japanese landscape, connecting generations past with the present.
In Willow and Wind, I capture the willow in motion through expressive colors and richly textured oil paint. The painting offers my own interpretation of this enduring Japanese landscape, bringing its energy and character into a contemporary living space.
