As you enter the grounds of the Taj Mahal, you first pass through a dark gateway.
For a brief moment, everything is shadow. Then, the luminous white marble of the Taj Mahal appears, almost as if it is made of light itself.
Built from translucent stone, it is said to glow beneath the full moon. Standing before it, I felt that it held more than a story of love. There was a profound stillness, a sense of time suspended, where light and silence seemed to exist together.
This painting is my memory of that moment: the passage from darkness into light, and the quiet presence that filled the space between.
Created after my journey to India, it invites a gentle sense of calm into a room, offering a place for reflection, hope, and the enduring beauty of love.
