As you enter the grounds of the Taj Mahal, you first pass through a dark gateway. For a brief moment, everything is shadow. Then, the luminous white marble of the Taj Mahal appears, almost as if it is made of light itself.
Built from translucent stone, it is said to glow beneath the full moon. Standing before it, I felt that it held more than a story of love. There was a sense of time suspended, a kind of quiet intoxication. Behind the Taj Mahal, the pale blue and yellow of the sunrise made its white marble feel even more beautiful.
Born from my journey to India, this painting carries the breeze that moved through the Taj Mahal that day. I hope you can feel it in your own room, too.
