This painting was created as a prayer for peace.
I incorporated sand from Russia and leaves from Fukushima into the surface, with a wish for healing.
The sea was painted by hand, inspired by the coast of Shonan, Japan. With deep phthalo blue, I sought to create a space where sea and sky dissolve into one presence. Light descends into the surface like a full moon falling across the water.
The title “The Song of Shonan 3” refers to an imagined song from the sea, a resonance that cannot be heard, only felt.
The painting changes its expression with light and time, revealing new depth with every viewing.
